For running it you must :
install virtual PC
install windows xp on it
install lutece !

I can tell you that on the virtual PC I can get some programs like emule and google earth, vista didnt want to launch them !

Another thing if you want to join Jo - you know what for -you can use his mail - given on the first page of the chat lutece- his icq, or the forum ..

What exactly does not work when you try to run Lutece3d on vista?

I have installed it on a modifyed Admin account, and the program starts up, with the chat controls and the blaxxun ... looks pretty good. It just says that the Host is not running.

It works pretty well for me, without Virtual Machine (I would have hate to install that).

Now I must figure out what I have been changing on my vista config ...

You proved that the program can directly run under Vista ; it seems that you have some OCX components already registred (this fixes two of the problems) and I now know how (eh eh I like this) to repair that ; the last and biggest problem I have has a lot of chances to be fixed by the UAC thing ; so the next compilation should run under Vista without virtual machine

*sigh* Doesn't work at all in Vista is what you are saying, what a disappointment. My XP machine is broken (video card fault) and I don't have drive space to install an XP virtual machine at the moment.

Lutèce3D V3 should run under Vista with these little things :

• first install the latest compilation program using this link,
• then disable the Vista "UAC" thing using that one (thanks to Peter for the tip),
• run the program : at first launch, leave the host IP and port as filled by default in one dialog box, fill in your nickname, icon, avatar, interests in another,
• accept the installation of blaxxun plugin as suggested at the second launch,
• then the last thing is I have to register you (manually for now) in the database to let you able to speak, which I'll make as soon as I can see your nickname on the Server

N.B. : Disabling the UAC under Vista is ONLY needed for the FIRST and SECOND launches; you can re-enable it after the first good connection to the Server
