Who is Adam Reuters?
Adam Reuters is Reuters' bureau chief in Second Life.

In real life, he is Adam Pasick, a veteran tech and media journalist.

Adam will be keeping regular hours in Second Life; you can view his calendar here.

web3d-fr a trouvé ça :

etc etc

PostSubject: Re: Second Life   Mon 8 Jan - 8:45

wow ! I found that from Paul Asslin from worldbuildersguild :

Quote:

Basic objects are a wierd markup language involving
primatives, modifiers and boolean operations.

In theory 3DS Max and say lightwave could convert
secondlife objects into scripting commands to do the same
modifiers directly. Personally I don't think its worth
doing, you'd get less polygons making the objects properly
using mesh editing.

The reverse isn't possible, for objects anyway as
secondlife has no concept of a mesh.

I did find this page, its not dated but I suspect its
recent.
http://secondlife.com/community/avatar.php
Its the secondlife avatars in obj format, so creators can
make the mesh in a real 3d app (or make animations in
poser) and upload it. Also the animations in BVH format.

So if a creator makes avatars, clothing or animations this
way then they can convert them to vrml or any other 3d
format.

If you look at the slexchange site swaffette posted earlier, you'll notice most of the things for sale there are avatars and their clothing. The avatars are the most realistic thing in secondlife by the looks.

I'll bet swaffette spends more time offline making things than she spends time in secondlife itself.
