2.101 demonstrates 60 leaves created from a single leaf

2.101 is ready for download from:

The goal of this version has been to be able to run a techuelife island tree script and so the necessary C++ instructions have been added.
This script creates 60 leaf copies from a single leaf. Each leaf copy is positioned and rotated from look up data contained in a multiple Vec3f container and a multiple Rotation container. The 60 leaves end up in a single IndexedFaceSet. This is more efficient than using 60 Transform nodes with each one referencing a single leaf because 60 Transform nodes would have to be calculated for every frame.

Same as the previous hoppy demonstration, the C++ script can be output as JavaScript so that it can run in a VRML browser.
After the smls is output as a wrl you will also want to delete the numbers generated by the script or the file will be much bigger than it needs to be.

This version of seamless has had a number of bugs fixed including the bug reported by Taranis that would cause seamless to crash if an Appearance node was clicked (and not dragged) in the hoppy script example.

I wanted to get this demonstration uploaded earlier but a few events slowed me down such as my new 17" flat screen CRT monitor dieing on me a few days ago I have ordered a new 17" LCD to replace it. I hope LCDs are less likely to die, my 17" CRT was only about 23 months old. It will be about a week before my LCD arrives in the post so in the mean time I am using my old 14" bubble screened monitor! arrrrrg it's horrible! The highest resolution I can use is only 800 by 600! I don't know how I ever used it for so many years without going mad lol

Thats an excelent piece of software. the layout is very neat and organized. do you have tutorials on basic avatar creation?

Making an Avatar from Immediate Spheres and Cylinders

is my most complete tutorial for showing how to make an animated avatar and uses the approach where only a minimum of techy skills are required. However using the immediate way I liken it much to using a paint brush to paint a picture, it requires lots of time and practice to develop artistic skills.

For an alternative approach also please take a look at seamless's new robot demos that show how to use "build" nodes.
Using build nodes is quite a different to the above tutorial but both techniques are related and can be mixed to utilise the best of both worlds.
For an example of generating an animated avatar using build nodes please press f10 select help / seamed av demo / create skeleton of parts etc.

You will want the texture file build_seamed_av.png from:

put in the same folder that the seamed av file is located in to observe the texture mapping being applied.
These robot demonstrations could benefit by more aids like sound to tell if the mouse button is down or up and I must add the ability to let the user single step though each operation and be able to go backwards too. However how it currently is it should still help greatly anyone who wants to learn seamless's build nodes or at the very least invoke a little curiosity towards using build nodes to make avatars in the future.
Remember seamless is still being developed but this should not be a problem so long as you post questions to the forum where I am only to pleased to reply with help. Questions helps me to keep in touch with how others find seamless and so can end up improving the design of seamless and/or the tutorials.
