- Dear friends of SrrTrains
As I already told you, I'd like to do an online test session with the current SRR Framework.
To find a date, I created an inquiry at doodle.com.
I'm not sure, whether this web page will present the information in your language or not. Please tell me, if you have problems with the language at
http://doodle.com/f6vvzkcv5e87kwyp
Contents of the OTS1:
- chat and voice chat via Skype - install demo layout and SRR Test Frame (preliminary version) - I will host the BS Collaborate test version - do as much online usage as possible, chat, discuss - some discussion about the future of SRR, if you like to discuss
Any comments welcome
Kind regards Christoph See here: Application with BS Collaborate: Simulated RailRoad (SRR)

2) TestPackage_0033.04bf8.zip http://sourceforge.net/projects/simulrr/files/
- contains: Demo Layout, SRR Framework, Platform Installation Binaries
3) SRR_0033.04bf8.zip (official release, no copyright issues) http://sourceforge.net/projects/simulrr/files/ - contains: SRR Framework only

- Dear Friends of SrrTrains
Well, I am interested in your feed back.
OK, it's too early for a "big" survey (the project is in pre-alpha status and the alpha release will happen earliest in autumn 2011, still being experimental), but if you have left some 5 or 10 minutes to send me your feed back, please do it, this could be helpful.
Imagine, if it was autumn and the alpha-release would have already happened, what should we do afterwards? Please distribute the points to the topics.
The result will be published in an anonymous way.
If you don't know an answer, you can leave whole sections empty.
I would like to contribute by (30 points) O testing O programming O maintaining an SrrTrains homepage O modeling (vehicles, houses, tracks, ......) O modeling (complete modules: landscape) O gaming/simulating of railway operation (single-user-mode) O gaming/simulating of railway operation (multi-user-mode)
I would like to use following operating system (10 points) O Windows O Linux O Other (...)
I would like to use following MU (multiuser) system (10 points) O BS Contact/BS Collaborate test version is sufficient O MU System open source/free O MU System commercial/professional
Static performance I would like to enjoy (10 points) O small layouts sufficient (2 to 3 modules) O big layouts
Dynamic performance I would like to enjoy (10 points) O small number of users (max. 5 users in a session) O big number of users in a session
SRR should now focus on (30 points) O Railway features O Better authoring support (easy-to-use editors) O Easy installation O Support more Web3D Browsers/MU systems O Performance (big layouts, many users) O Compatibility with other VR worlds (avatars, ...)
Please don't forget, currently the main focus is having a creative - and cheap - hobby, where a few people can collaborate who are interested in a) 3D graphics b) railways.
Thanks for your help

| Hi Alain, hi all I am Christoph and I am new to this forum. I am also relatively new to 3D graphics and to X3D/VRML. On the other hand, if you want to know anything about SrrTrains or about the SRR Framework, it could frequently happen that I may have an answer I am easily reachable via the comment function of the blog http://simulrr.wordpress.com . You can send an e-mail to me from http://simulrr.wordpress.com/about, or even more directly via http://members.chello.at/christoph.valentin/mail.htm Have fun Christoph P.S.: Small introduction: in March 2010 we did a first test session ("LAN Party #1") and afterwards I decided to start an "official" open source project and a comprehensive re-design. Probably you have tested version "step 0032bf3" of the SRR Framework (with a "Rocket" like locomotive). Well, currently the re-design is still ongoing and we have no (nada, niente, none) railway feature, on the other hand the software is more stable and elaborate. Furthermore there are some small new features (e.g. dynamic modules that can be loaded/unloaded at runtime). | |

| Well ......hummmmm One year ago ( it is here : https://closed.forumactif.com/t2210p15-bs-collaborate ) tutanc opened his BScollaborate on the server he had at that time , and just to try I made a test , quickly , with a world of mines . We were able to speak together !( he was Laura , me too ) .... Now ,because of SRR , I retried all the tutorials about BS collaborate , and running the BS Collaborate Server in local , I am able to connect several instances : BUT ,I have no chat display !!! I can't understand what I missed .... On the other hand it is not funny to stay in local , so I asked my great son who manages my server , and he said to me that it is impossible to run BS_Collaborate_Server.exe on our Linux server . And he doens't want to use WINE .... As I am very tired of all that after 2 days working about , I had the stupid idea to "try"/to "use" SRR Test Frame.... I beagan to look at the files , and I saw that an easy test was to put my old Monet world (changing that vrml ...to ...X3d ) at a place ..for instance ..."Windmill.x3d". I do know that it is a stupid test , but I could connect in local hummmm..... ...well ... I hope Christoph doesn't worry about my stupid experiments , and I have 2 questions : The first one for tutanc ( may be Christoph too ) : why I dont have a chat window as you had , tutanc ? The second for Christoph : do you use SRR online on a Linux server ??? ps for tutanc : did you used WINE for the server you had -or still have?- one year ago ?? (tutancamon.myftp.org) | |

| Alain, you not need to run "srr test frame". Just install the server and his client fom Christoph archive, and then use them. Christoph make jokes with us: he has not a beam to another avatar, he has a "goto place", not a "goto avatar".
For running on wine, is simple. Install wine, and then after starting him, start bscollaborate, and he will run under linux .. ;-) See also: http://www.web3d-fr.com/foroum/index.php?showtopic=5240

This image cannot be from Christoph's X3D files. Ask Christoph about what hapened that not work his server on Wine. About my server, yes he was in Wine, but was an older version of BSCollaborate not version 1.3.0.3, and I used VRML files not X3D. And his client was bsContactVrml 7.107, not bsContactVrml 7.206. | Get the old and good server from me: http://sites.google.com/site/blaxxunromania/BSColaborateServer.exe.txt You know what you have to do: delete ".txt" I don't know what is his version. And don't forget to use him with bsContactVrml 7.107 not with bsContactVrml 7.206 . You alredy have his VRML files from Bitmanagement site. Good luck !
