| Hi Alain, samdl and Jicer Just to let you know I am still alive and am still working on the new Seamless version. Sorry for not writing back sooner, I did have a look here over a month ago but have been so tunnel visioned trying to complete the new version, I have found it very hard socialize online and write. I don't remember a time I have so rarely checked my emails ! It has now been over a year and a half since I last uploaded the last version of seamless, so this is the longest time ever to develop a new version of seamless. In adding the new features I have bitten off way more than I can chew in my usual time. Earlier this year I predicted it would be ready by May but in May I had a few new ideas that I could not resist adding and so this has delayed things quite a bit. I have decided not to complete all the new features I began last year because I don't want this version to take till another Christmas lol but I will have the most important features ready enough so that it wont be any harder to make a seamless head like Lucy’s (or the rest of the body) than to sculpt one with clay. I don't mean it will be like using clay exactly, what I mean is it will technically be so easy, anyone can do it. I have had relatives who are children, aged from 3 to 9 test this out for me so I know this is not just a dream I am now predicting I will have the new version ready within a month Sorry I just noticed your Smiley you made Alain, looks good but its so small I think I need glasses, I have not been to a doctor let alone an eye specialist since 1980, so I am going to have to pay one a visit in the City soon. I downloaded 123d Catch some months ago Alain but have not used it yet to recreate my real life head as i am too shy to upload the photos lol. I looked at the link of the realistic head animation samd, looks very realistic but the mouth seemed a bit strange at times I thought. As amazing as it is, I agree with Alain in preferring animations to look artistic over realistic. Amongst my favourite 3D animations are Wallace and Grommet which don't look at all real lol Thanks for the link to the flight simulation Jicer, it is very impressive especially considering I needed no plugins at all. I played with it for about an our but I only managed to land the plane once (but I missed the runway) without crashing it | |

Because me too I have periods were I am not good at socialization LOL
her was the biginning of my mail ( I archive all I want to write , LOL ) :
Dear Thyme ,
I had to move my OVH server because OVH obliged me to go to another system. Since june 24. Bert-Asheanor arranged all for me and also for you ( he is a darling )
and he told me that you have seamless server running here
/home/seamless
But I see now that your http://www.seamless3d.com/worlds_open.php
goes to http://87.98.158.40:7778
that is dead now and I will see , or you will see how to get the right adress | |

| Thanks for letting me know mixed3d.net has a new IP address Alain I have updated the reference to the new IP address at Seamless3d.com so that anyone can now log in as usual to seamless chat using the current version of Seamless3d And so too this link www.seamless3d.com/worlds_open.php to open the world list in your html browser works again. Many thanks again Alain and to Bertrand for setting everything up, it is very very much appreciated I did not realize you had left facebook samd but thanks for letting me know here. I have not been to FB much myself lately because I have been so busy and I must say I dislike the way facebook is being used to collect the people's info from all around the world for the US government. I am disappointed by how many people continue to be apologists for authoritarianism or just don't care. Have we learnt nothing from history in trusting people with power and secrecy? I just watched the youtube Unreal Engine 3 for Firefox from your link. Looks great but I am still not sure what it means by you do not need a plugin for it. Does this mean it is using WebGL or does it mean once you have the game engine installed you don't need a plugin to play different games? | |

| Ok Thanks for that explanation samd, I never read it in any detail but it seems now to me it is all about making Javascript run faster and allowing C++ to be compiled into JavaScript. Although it is not exactly the same approach, it has some similarities with my SeamlessScript idea in that they are using data types so that there is no interpretation at run time. Although SeamlessScript is C++ compatible code, it feels a lot like JavaScript with the main difference between SeamlessScript and JavaScript being that SeamlessScript requires all data types to be defined which makes it a lot faster than if it had to keep deciding whether a data type is a string or a floating point number for example. SeamlessScript like JavaScript does not let you do everything C++ can do to keep it safe for the web and is compiled into native code just in time for execution. I had my first examples of SeamlessScript working in Seamless3d I think as early as 2005. It is a shame I have not had more time to develop it more. | |

| Thanks Alain but this has nothing to do with if the server is running OK (Seamless server at mixed3d is fine), this is to do with the mixed.net domain registration being up to date. I will paste my email here: Dear friend Alain, when I was finding what the new IP mixed3d.net address is I came across this: http://www.whoismydomain.com.au/whois/mixed3d.net which says: "NOTICE: The expiration date displayed in this record is the date the registrar's sponsorship of the domain name registration in the registry is currently set to expire. This date does not necessarily reflect the expiration date of the domain name registrant's agreement with the sponsoring registrar. Users may consult the sponsoring registrar's Whois database to view the registrar's reported date of expiration for this registration." I guess you or Bertrand already know this but would be horrible to loose your domain name mixed3d to some spam site if you don’t. Please thank Bertrand for me and let him know how much I appreciate his help. And thanks to you too Alain for hosting the server for seamless chat best wishes Thyme | |
