| I got an email from bitmanagement about BS Contact 7 and lots of other 3d related news. Of interest: - Quote :
Application development eased with Prototypes. Bitmanagement will soon offer a fully documented X3D “Prototype” library, thereby simplifying the process of application development. The library will include approximately 150 prototypes, which encapsulate common but tedious programming tasks (like user interface design, for example) into customizable, “drag ’n’ drop” nodes. The Bitmanagement Prototype library aims to reduce development time and maximize return on investment for customers developing 3D and multimedia content projects. - Quote :
“How to” guide simplies BS Contact VRML/X3D 3D usage. Comprehensive guidance is provided in a new tutorial for BS Contact VRML/X3D, which will be available soon on the Bitmanagement website. It presents additional instructions as to how our 3D software can be integrated into customer projects and is written in a style suited for guided classroom use. The tutorial was developed in response to user requests and feedback. But neither of these are out yet, just a sneak peak from Bitmanagement. I'll be taking a lot of interest in the Proto collection, assuming its available to everyone and not just people who buy the SDK. I don't think they would make it part of the SDK though, as not every content developer needs/wants the SDK.

| Great news !!!!
Release 7.1 with SWF !!!!http://www.bitmanagement.com/developer/contact/relnotes71.html#flashmovietexture - Quote :
- The X3D node MovieTexture also supports SWF files. The new flag exposedField SFBool stream FALSE for MovieTexture nodes allows the direct download by the movie renderer. With the default stream FALSE http urls are first downloaded to the cache.
Transparent background The node FlashMovieTexture renders SWF files or streams to a texture and allows interaction with the embedded Adobe Flashplayer. With the option transparent=true Flash movies can have background color key transparency. [b] I try to install it on my old puter but I have probs with who succeeded ??

Well, the thing with Flash is that Contact uses the RealPlayer G2 support of flash for displaying it, and that it changed in RealOne, that s why there has been things not working anymore. searching all that stuff on http://www.x79.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=556&highlight=flash+movie

| Alain right click and select "BS Contact vrml/x3d" > "about BS Contact vrml/x3d..."
That will tell you the proper version number, unlike the bitmanagement page which is out of date or broken occasionally.
