Thyme's 50 Most Frequently Used Words - Page 3 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Thyme's 50 Most Frequently Used Words   Thyme's 50 Most Frequently Used Words - Page 3 EmptyTue 17 May - 0:51

Dear Alain I did some Babel translations of your words and this is what it said:

réaction = reaction
retour = return
renvoi = reference

For feedback it said:

feedback = rétroaction

and I tried to confirm this better by translating rétroaction back to English and it translated it back to feedback. Does this mean this is the one to one word translation? heheh afraid I am relying to much on my faith in robot logic here because I don't know French so well you know Smile so let me explain the word feedback in my own words

The typical use of the word feedback for me (without looking it up in the dictionary) would be to mean responding or replying with information to a posting or idea that may have been expressed in a forum Smile or an email for example. If someone wrote to me explaining what they experienced when using Seamless3d or a 3d world I had made this would mean they were giving me "feedback".
Feedback is especially reserved for an individual's own experience ( as opposed to replying with information from a book some one else has written on the subject).

words with simular meaning to feedback:

respond=répondez
reply=réponse

A sentence a day sounds like a good idea Alain. This might help find which are truly the most important words.
I remember wondering some years ago that to many words perhaps prevent people from being more logical. When words are used like phrases words become more like a animal grunt rather than single elements that can be rearranged to make many different meanings (sentences). There for I did wonder if less words used in a more creative way might mean we would be using a language more to what the definition of a language is.
This reminds me of the difference between expressing your self using clipart to being forced make something from scratch to mean exactly what you mean.
When certain words become trendy, buzz words as they are known here, I often wonder if people have stopped thinking about what they are saying.
Less words might challenge people to think more what they are saying and be less dogmatic in what they mean.

Sorry I used to many words I need not have used Smile

Ok so trying to get by with a minimalist number of words might be a interesting experiment for me Smile

Wow many sentences added already to you list Smile I will try to think of one today Alain Smile

Thyme's 50 Most Frequently Used Words - Page 3 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Thyme's 50 Most Frequently Used Words   Thyme's 50 Most Frequently Used Words - Page 3 EmptyTue 17 May - 9:47

Hi Alain Smile
I was thinking more can one do without so many words
many easy sentences if you got for the single word sentences like, bounjour, merci, bissous
if so many single word sentences there must be many more 2 word sentences?
But I was thinking I don't have enough words in my list yet to ask a simple sentence like "how are you Alain?"
And then there is the reply to know to the question like "I am very well"
I thought we don't need the word "well" we could use "good" instead?
I thought instead of asking the question with words we could save words by answering the sentence with the reply and a question mark?
for example:
very good Alain? = très bon Alain?
and so the reply would be oui (yes) or non = (no)
and because we know the word merci we could answer :
"oui merci"
ok so I will add the word "very"(très) to the list of 50 words
Would this be acceptable? or am I trying to cut out to many words to communicate?

Not sure where I put my sentence Alain? or if I have a sentence lol Smile

Hi Isa, Realwtl, Alain and All Smile

Ok thanks Isa I have added "oublier" to my list:

http://www.seamless3d.com/thyme/50_french_words.html

I am wondering after what Alain said and as my list approaches 50 if I should change the list to a 100 words. However I still wonder how creative one could be with only 50 words. If its possible for a computer CPU to be able to do just about any conceivable instruction from only about 16 different instructions you would think a human could get by with only 50 words, or is this faulty reasoning on my part?
I must say its interesting Alain managed to write 500 pages about Art using only a 100 words, Well done Alain! Smile
A 100 words should not be to many to forget (oublier)
Hope to see you in Blaxxun Smile

PostSubject: Re: Thyme's 50 Most Frequently Used Words   Thyme's 50 Most Frequently Used Words - Page 3 EmptyFri 3 Jun - 0:26

Merci Realwtl for pointing out that I had bisous and kisses in the opposite columns to what they should have been in. Funny no one noticed it till you Smile
Thanks Alain for pointing out the repeated word "very" and your suggestions, yes its perhaps just as important to point out words that are not so important if the list is to be a true minimalist list but you say vertex is useless??????????? how could you ever say this to a fellow passionate 3d creator LOL Smile
Ok well when we hit 100 words some of the older words will be reviewed.
I added male and female instead of boy and girl for 2 reasons I thought,
1/ male/female is more general in that male/female can be used for animal, human, earthling, alien, baby, child or adult although it is true boy and girl are often used to have a more general meaning, for example boyfriend, girlfriend and cowboy (a man who dresses up in a cow suit Smile)
2/ I thought it was really good how the French word for both male and female looked very simular to the English words so would be easier to remember too.
Thinking that there are a lot of words simular in French and English with the same meaning perhaps there are other words in the list that could be replaced with easier to remember words
I was trying to guess what word this was you said Alain "buid" in your sentence you could "buid a......friend .....boy or girl ..." I wondered if it was "include" but found from Babel include = incluez so I added this near matching word to the list Smile
have a nice day Smile

It's funny
I have the same conversation with Birch for male and female this is for animals in France

Quote :
1/ male/female is more general in that male/female can be used for animal, human, earthling, alien, baby, child or adult although it is true boy and girl are often used to have a more general meaning, for example boyfriend, girlfriend and cowboy (a man who dresses up in a cow suit )

girls and boys: filles et garcons
man and woman : homme et femme

PostSubject: Jupiter   Thyme's 50 Most Frequently Used Words - Page 3 EmptyThu 16 Jun - 14:17

Hi Louise Friends Smile
My mother recently took a photo of Jupiter next to the moon late at dusk:

http://www.seamless3d.com/thyme/photos/jupiter_at_dusk.png

She took another a few hours later when it was completely dark:

http://www.seamless3d.com/thyme/photos/jupiter_some_hours_later.png

You can see how it has moved some distance away since the first photo. Jupiter looks just a little speck next to the moon in the photos but the photos were taken by a cheap digital camera here on earth in Australia Smile
I have never seen Jupiter before like this but then I don't look at the sky much perhaps Smile
Can you see it in France or else where in the forum I wonder?

I thought perhaps the photos might spark some curiosity of the universe we find our selves in and all the serious big issues raised that go with that stuff. A naked statue of Venus with a planet orbiting round it was not quite the reply I was expecting!!!! No worries Alain, yes I forgive you but only because you are French Smile

hehehehehe so glad I am in a universe where a sense of humour exists Smile and French people too Smile

WOW thymey!

You have a mother that shots photos of jupiter?! What can I do to make my mother do that too?
Sadly my mother seems not much interested in universe! Shocked

I'm very happy, cause I have never heared that mothers ever do such, to there's hope in
this universe again!
Could it be that normaly to feed childrens and clean their pants every day make mothers and some fathers after time not to be interested to look on the sky?
(at last thimey told that cleaning vertexes every day seems to make a wrl-builder not look at the ('real') sky too!?)
Isa, what do you say about that?

Also sadly I think because of light-pollution (?) in big cities it's not possbible to see anything exept moon on sky. Did you know that all that city light cause moths and other night insects go dizzy because they need to see clear moon-light to navigate?

Shure you could say 'what I care about insects', but if no insects, a lot of birds have to starve.
and bird-mothers and fathers will go crazy when they dont know how to feed their band.
Strange world(s) we have! affraid

hermetic Alain bonjour Smile

Quote :
no insects , no pollution (?) no mothers ....we can see Geneve , may be we could see Berlin , may be we could see you ..

isa

i translate for you Hermétic :

hermetic , Alain hello:)

you speak about mothers and father,
if I very included/understood....I not understand all hermetic excuses me:
you speak about thoughts, of creativities in fact without pollution nor insect, like the mountain or by looking at the sky it is that?...

personally I think that a mother has the duty to raise her children and protect them after it it is the reverse is the child who must this protect his parents one has all needs for from/to each other .

the society wants that ! then others will say it is your blood... Appear-you it.... me I do not need my mother and it of me thus it is not innate, each one is free, then is necessary to know in any event it is you who directs your life the others do not choose has your place they do not have the right.
one is just conditioned by the society it is necessary to follow if you not do that are regarded as hornes standard ...... marginal....

Quote :
No insects, No pollution (?) No mothers....we edge see Geneva, may Be we could see Berlin, may Be we could see you.

no the insects, not of pollution I do not think that exist ...Smile has share in its head and to yes make the vacuum... and alone .ou with new eyes!!! can be?????

A lain try to see very far with your new eyes for creating a new world and hermetic too Smile)

lol hermetic, makes an avatar pirates woman I comeeeeee.... Smile)

good day, and I owe some lies except subject because I very did not include/understand hihi:) afflicted
