We announced "MixED" on web3D-fr , on seamless forum , on cyworx , on lutece forum , on worldbuildersguid , on media machine forum , ect ..
none answer or comments .
Blaxxun is down still 1 month and not many guys seems care about .
The few who care about haven't set up another solution ..
I wonder where vrml builders are and if they really like to share

The site hosting the chat (blaxxun don't care so not them) should at least have:
1- a FAQ and a link to the 3d plugin.
2- a forum, or a link to an existing forum which is big enough
3- a collection of links to various general purpose vrml sites
4- a proper 3d portal world, something impressive looking.
5- a list of worlds, as in and add your own directory with report dead link button.

Optional
5a- a 3d in-world version of the list of worlds.
6- a fancy vrml webring, where the navigation is entirely 3d (stan was working on this ages ago)
7- a collection of avatars
8- a build your own avatar tool, not as hard as it sounds if done with basic geometry, or limit the options.
9- a news page

Have a look at http://www.vr4all.net/, that is an example of how a 3d chat portal should behave. Yes its in french, but Alain will just understand all the words there hahaha.

In my website, on the sidebar, you have another webring named "web3d" which includes web3d-france and other vrml sites. Below it, there are 2 places of web3d on Ning.com

You can join that webrings and also the vrml webring at webrings.org (but it seems a bit dead, it's better "web3d").

Another option is the named "blaxxun webring" at webring.org that tutancamon says.

Another option is to group websites at Ning.com founding your new social site.

Or just link one to the others as I've done, linking to MixED and others.

Or making the infrastructure for a banner exchange.
