New IP Number for DM Public Server

Hello,
The Deep Matrix public server has a new IP address of 200.35.147.133 so older clients won't be able to connect.
There is a simple patch available here:

Hi Jicer,
Some questions to try to fix your problem.

Have you used the Vista machine in the past with DM when you put your worlds on the public server?
Are you sure the "crash" is not Instant Player closing when it jumps worlds?
It is suppose to do that to clear memory. It then reopens. I admit it is an unusual approach
and can be a little disconcerting to a user. It does warn you in the chat window.

Does the Java chat window/application close as well?

What I am seeing from your console print (thanks for this!) is that there is a bug with my homemade mp3 player. It seems to be competing for resources and it IS resource hungry.

The simplest test for this theory is to use another world as the log-in world.
Here is url for a new "win_public_matrixclientrc".

It uses Hermetic_cab's classic "Prime City" as the start world. Just rename the old file with an underscore and drop this one in the DM client_application folder.

One more important question: Are you using any other Java application at the same time such as a internet messaging system like Jitsi? Jitsi is resource intensive and interferes with the Deep Matrix client.

Actually the server DM is on including Deepmatrix.org, SevenEmeraldTablets.net and other sites had a DOS attack last week. That's why the IP number was changed. The server itself is in Panama and the attack actually caused problems for the Panamanian internet, so the hosting service took it offline.

My admin is making security upgrades.

You could try my test on the local DM server by just renaming it the new file.

The MP3 Player is source of problem then?
What happens if you try to jump to the Matrix world where the MP3 Proto player is?

My own Windows 7 machine does not have any issues with the MP3 player code.
I think the problem on your machine is either a hardware one or there is another resource hungry Java application running.
Are you using Jitsi? -it use to be known as SIP Communicator?

Actually your own world "Nano 16" uses the MP3 player proto. Do you crash in that world?

so I reinstalled now Intsantreamity frim an old stuuf I have on my CDs :

Instant_Player-Win32_NT-5.1-i686-2.0.0beta7-b12815.4863.exe

and now DP works well , as always )

Hi Alain,
Not sure why you are having installation problems. I have the latest Instant Player installed on my XP computer. Have you tried to upgrade drivers? Try uninstalling old Instant Player first, reboot, and then try new install? Although I admit have never had to that myself for any install.

Lakshmi Mittal is an Indian steel magnate.
He is the chairman and CEO of ArcelorMittal,
he doesnt play sytar , he "plays" with working-class-heroes to rob them their job.
