Sure, MixED is a great initiative for the VRML/X3D community.

About systems (ABNet2, X-3DME, Lutéce 3D, Seamless, Outside and others), I agree with Alain that we should support and participate in them all and not be excessively centric. In this community (VRML/X3D) we like to build and learn. There is always something useful to learn with other's works. In the end what really counts is people, the community. Systems come, enjoy us and dont last long. People come, enjoy us and ... become friends for life, if you give them a chance!

Some days ago, I reviewed the test samples of the 2 Raging Storm displays at X-Robotica, that you yourself left with us in our "uncatalogued worlds" category. In fact, I wrote to Peter just yesterday asking for his opinion.

We are having technical / logistical problems with these 2 worlds -- walking to their gallery-pictures and link-portals is taking forever.

Also, 1 of these 2 worlds is a huge link-portal array to 100s of worlds (a worlds hub).

X-Robotica is developing as a worlds hub in its own right. So (it's not "rocket science"), putting a worlds hub inside another worlds hub would detract from the value of the primary hub, disrespecting all the showcased worlds the primary hub contains.

One needs only to honour and understand the maxim:



ergo, Respect before Indifference

And, vcard (with all due respect), if that's being "excessively centric", then "beat me with a stick" (or with flowers)!

About the MiXed crew, all I can say is, they work real hard to live up to their name. And, I love them all.

and so now , yes , the "circle " is huge ,

it is a great result !

Btw , as he had been "guest" on MixED for the actual thema "galleries " ,
( galleries of worlds too , let say .."portal" ... )

BTW I tried a Ferrari , and was more used to drive a LADA in real

I had thought our system was not yet compatible and doomed to
just a "robot's walk-about" in the Grand Prix world.

Why? because I did not find the Tour Button on a banner in the back of a garage!

Now I did -- and enjoyed 2 or 3 powerful rides in different cars!

I also found the elevator and crossed the bridge in a robot suit-- fealt like a time-traveling robot or in a a future robot-built holographic simulation of an historical event.
