still does not run, and MySQL will be next (to not run).
Vista is behaving somehow like an inquisitor ... even if running as admin it does not allow a few things ...
First aid is provided by just disabling one of Vista's new features
The UAC (or User Access Control) should be renamed as PIA (pain in the ass) or PIA-1, because there are more to come, that's sure.

well, if you want to be a real "admin" of your Vista-Box, I´ve found that trick :
Open the command line prompt with admin rights (right click ... open as admin) and type :
net user administrator /active:yes
Reboot, login as administrator, feel like a real admin.
