Pour fêter les milliers de musiciens amateurs que compte la France en ce début de décennie, Jack Lang, Maurice Fleuret et Christian Dupavillon invitent tous les instrumentistes à s'exprimer dans la rue, entre 20h30 et 21h. On fabrique des instruments de fortune, selon des plans diffusés par le ministère de la Culture. Succès inattendu : musiciens improvisés ou pratiquants fervents ont tous répondu présent, bien au-delà de la petite demi-heure prévue !
