| Merci beaucop, Magnus ! Happy new Year to All !!! (specially for ISA1 and, okay, Oxbow) Sorry not to be in Paris for Jack's premiere ... Okay ... let's do some work now ! Blaxxun is down again ... not for long time, no worries people ... but for a couple of days may be. + Blaxxun = Blaxxun Down ! So I have decided to make a big deal out of the "2007 Blaxx down" and re-launch an old peace of "good for nothing" stuff that I started during "2006 Blaxx down". Since then, my good old friend Jicer has been the only one in taking a look there from time to time, and even placing the "n3dme keyhole" window in his http://schizzo.free.fr page. (Gracias Jicer). But now the time has come for me, to become of alternative 3d-chats, or at least (the fool) of the web-publishing community. Let me introduce you to : The N3DME 3d-Chat Not good ? Hey it's under constant development ... evolution ... give it a try, now that Blaxx is down. Look at the login form : Note : the pig showed inside the "Avatar prevue" is Gammonbrat's pigavc.wrl. The (c) Peter stuff is regarding the chat, and not the avatar showed on this pictureYou can write there your Nickname, you can write the URL to your favourite Avatar and you could even write the URL to your world ... ... isn't that great ? About the Nick and the Avt, all works fine so long. The world, has got some issues to be solved ... it loads, but you'll be set there into a probably undesired viewpoint. Nothing that could not be solved pushing "PageUP" or choosing another viewpoint from the context menu of Blaxxun. Another ugly issue, is that some bindable nodes will not render properly (as they will be unbound at start-up and so some very nice worlds, look rather ugly when viewed inside the N3DME system (sorry X, I could not solve it yet). Okay, now a few goodies : If you accept cookies, your last few Nicknames and Avatars and Worlds will be saved as cookies, so you might easily catch them again, just opening the context menue that appears clicking at the 'examine buttons' (those marked with '...') at the right side of each field. Ah, there is also a problem with my cookies script : after a couple of visits, your cookie will be much too big, so Windows crashes - even XP - with one of those magestic blue screens. It looks far worse than it really is (but it's messy, i agree) But there is another goodie : Before logging in, you may have a look at what worlds are actually being visited, by clicking at the [...] stuff, at the right side of the 'world' field of the log-in form. Simiar to that, you may also open a floating window while not being inside the chat (I mean while being offline). One like that : If, there is a world opened, you will see the world's name (clicking at it, it will take you right there) and who is inside the world at that moment. This same floating window opens whenever you log out properly, pushing the yellow button at the base of the chat-text display. You may also embedd that window into your web-page ( why wouldn't you?) , like Jicer did, using the following code : <IFRAME></IFRAME> (dang! Alain's forum deletes my iframe params ! ... just write this into the opening <iframe> tag : id="navi_ifr" src="http://3dchat.3d-check.com/external_navi.htm" scrolling="no" frameborder="yes" height="200" width="200" Well, isn't it cool Okay, it will be better for the "2008 Blaxx down", I promise. Anyhow, feel free to play arround with it. If someone want's the sources, just let me know. Ah, it only runs on MSIE (pure MSIE .... no Netscape with MSIE rendering engine nor such stuff!) and Blaxxun (may be Bitmanager's BS-Contact too). Okay, that was it. Bissoux pour elles ! Peter p.s.: ah, the link http://3dchat.3d-check.com | |

| "Dang!" It IS cool! You know how I hate chat boxes covering the scene! You solved that problem and included all the other bells and whistles as well! And this comes from our funny friend Peter? "Oink, oink, dang!" Pigs DO fly! -- methinks the year 2007 will be magical! X . . | |

| Hi guys, thank's for the visit and the comments Yes there are a couple of important bugs to be fixed in the N3DME( well, a dozen of couples). Here comes the bug-report : ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1) Wrong cookie handling :
The cookie grows too large, and Windows ends up in a blue screen after a few log in.I will stop using cookies and change over to data base records for listing nicks, avatars and worlds in the log-in form. Status : 07-01-03 : to be done.Status : 07-01-21 : done, no blue screens any more.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2) Weird focusing of the chat input box :
sometimes it's getting focus() too much (doesn't let you do anything else but chatting) and other times you need to hit several times at your KBD until you get the first character.I will change the way of focusing the chat text box, making it more normal, just like in normal text-boxes (clickat ... and it's focused). A proper cursor at text-input position will also help. Other solution could be to change over to a simple html text-box as text input. Status : 07-01-03 : to be done.Status : 07-01-21 : done. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 3) Lost chat-text :
Sometimes the text you have sent to chat does never appear back on screen for the author. The other chatters (also the chatlog) get it. But you don't.That's a weird thing! Okay, must be somehow related to some LOCK (who's got the LOCK ?!! ). Should be easy to debug. Status : 07-01-03 : to be done.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 4) Avatars don't make gestures nor do they walk :I did get it to work fine using Fabricator's Avatar Proto instead of the Inline2 extension. But it was just a local test and was lost during a HDD cleanup ... I will redo it. Status : 07-01-03 : to be done.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 5) The text-files re. chatlog and users list corrupt from time to timeBetter filtering and encoding of chat-entries and a better work for cropping the users list when somebody leaves should solve the problem. Status : 07-01-03 : to be done.Status : 07-01-21 : done.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6) Respect the Viewpoint and all other bindings intended by the world-builder of an inlined world.Dunno how to do that ... may be it needs to parse the scene-tree searching for such nodes and just 'set_bound' the first of each. Status : 07-01-03 : to be done.Status : 07-01-21 : done.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 7) Implementation of missing stuff :
Shared objects and events, private messaging, profile preview, etc ...It's not an urgent need, and easy to implement, but : Status : 07-01-03 : to be done.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ That's a lot of work I hope to get it up and running for 'Blaxx down 2012' Huggs, Peter

| LOOOOL !! I wonder why ppl are playing with "good for nothing" things , during I work hard : I was checking 2 days ago if Peter was on 3dcheck , of course he was not , always on the road again that pig , but I discovered confettis and path finder and estatuas .... So , 2 days ago I made/tested these very useful things LOL : http://dumenieu.free.fr/louiseforum/mypathfinder.wrl ( with the magnus -gargo dog ) http://dumenieu.free.fr/louiseforum/myestatuas.wrl ( with " don't put anybody on a piedestal " LOL ) and now we have a chat !!!!!!!! aaaaaaaaaaaaaa !!!!!!!!!! You are all Gods !! What a great year coming ) Merci beaucoup Peter , we will jump from fabricator one to yours ) and vice versa and bravo ! guys !! ps : humm I tried to put the iframe where we could put one , at the top of Louise index but don't know what to write exactly <iframe tag: id="navi_ifr" src="http://3dchat.3d-check.com/external_navi.htm scrolling=no frameborder=0 width=200 height=200></iframe> | |

| Hey Alain !!!!!! It worksssssssss !!!!! You did it !!!!!! I mean te <iframe> stuff. up there in your Forum's headline, it displays if somebody is online in N3DME Go and find a permanent place for it Thank's for the job and the comments, bro. Also for testing the other old stuff (it's there since years ). Let me point out a few things concerning Fabricator's chat : 1) It's the first one ever seen working on several different vrml-viewers 2) It doesn't use any HTML, so it is truely cross-browser compatible (MSIE, Netscape, etc. ...). Therefore, he is struggeling with a far more difficult job than I am. I will never forget the day (well... night), whilest comfortably sitting in Paris at chez Jicer's cyber-home, drinking his last wine, Hermi shoot his ship's cannons from within Blaxxun and I wached the event on a Cortona Viewer That was a 3d-chat milestone !!! That's only possible on Fab's Stay tuned! Peter | |

| Oui, Magnus. Cela un truc pour actualiser la image : Dans le script la - Quote :
function refreshIt() { if (!document.images) return; document.images['myCam'].src = 'http://eol.free.fr/spectacle/easywebcam.jpg?' + Math.random(); setTimeout('refreshIt()',30000); }
fait recharger la image. Cette function est 'called' (pardon) la premiere fois apres 80000 milisecondes pour le ptit truc dans le tag <body>. Apres, elle 'is called back' poure elle meme chaque 30000 milisecondes. - Quote :
<body onLoad="setTimeout('refreshIt()',80000);">
... pardon mon francais. Okay, Professor try putting this into a 465 * 200 <iframe> http://www.3d-check.com/louise_head/louise_frameset.html May be it works | |
