Sure Alain but I am probably too busy to play with it myself but I am interested to hear about it. - Alain wrote:

I think life will be so well simulated it will hurt when your avatar falls Because this looks quite nice I thought I share it before I ruin it There are 1200 non transparent strands randomly distributed by the computer. The shape of the hair is controlled by 3 nurbs patches.

| Thanks Alain If I only had to make Punk hairstyles life would be easy lol This was my first attempt to cover the rest of her head the same way I added the first band of strands on the top. I quite like it but it looks rather like a furry hat to me: A different approach to complete covering the head by adding clumps of hair one at a time which seemed to get better results but it proved time consuming making each clump fit on the scalp: I decided instead of adding individual clumps of hair, to instead try beginning with the whole scalp planted up so as to bypass the time it takes to make each clump fit on the scalp. This picture shows 4400 strands planted randomly all over the region of Lucy’s scalp waiting to be stylised: I thought just the parting of the hair with this new approach to form the fringe was interesting enough to share : Here is my first real hairstyle derived from the 4400 straight strands radiating from the scalp: Here is a variation where the fringe is broken up into spiky locks making it look more wild: | |

| I am always flattered when you want to use any of my stuff Alain Many triangles are needed to generate this hair for Lucy. Sometimes I wish we could just use veils like this pretty Syrian girl: http://www.travelblog.org/Photos/4341419 which looks very nice and would save on zillions of triangles The smls files containing all the nurbs patches that define Lucy's hair is 1.6 meg in size and when output to povray the povray files are 58 meg !!! This sounds like a krazy amount of triangles just for the hair but when I think how I only have 4400 strands of hair and the nVidia hair examples have 18000 strands rendered in real time it makes me feel justified in using this many triangles here in the West lol. I glanced through the pdf file from your link. This hairball seems to be used as an object to test “Ray-Cast Ambient Occlusion” rendering. This hairball is indeed a strange object, The strands look much like thin pieces of bamboo or wood and I notice many of them going through each other but what's really strange is it looks like holes are made for the bits to pass through each other. Why is this done? I do not know lol | |

| Hi Alain Just to keep you updated with the progress of the new hair feature. I have been developing a feature that allows the user to define regions so that the hair strands can be grouped for the locks. The regions can be selected and seeded with any density of strands: Simple long straight hairstyle utilising poly regions: | |

I recognized myself LOL... Well , a question , Thyme : How made you your forum ?? How you secured it ?? One day after I beagan a forum on my server, mixed3d.net , all the server had been hacked and closed by OVH. Reason why Bertrand has still to repair it ... I used wordpress , if I remeber well , humm not sure ...

| Sorry to hear OVH closed mixed3d.net Alain, I hope it will be back online again very soon. The reason why the new seamless3d forum does not get attacked with spam is because my brother wrote the software and so the forum code is unique (no one will know how it works). It would not be worth their time learning how it works to write spam software for it because only a handful of people would get to see the spam/advertising lol but if it did become popular enough to make it worth their time it can be re-coded to mess up their efforts | |

| "One day after I beagan a forum on my server" maybe the attacker write your forum developer + version + vuln (or exploit) and searched it in google and than he find how to hack it...... but its stupid to do it via google... because the good thing is learn hack it by yourself and not to wait others will do your job.... stupids... but you are unlucky alain.... just your forum hacked..? i remember more 1 thing was hacked lol .!! "How you secured it ??" LOL... what you planning??? hack thyme forum??? kidding!! yes yes i know i am out of the topic!! ok dont answer here answer in pm lol .!! | |

| Well samd , I will be out of the topic too , but Thyme is patient I pay each month for my server, and I pay each month to delete advertissments for LouiZe members. So.... I was thinking , from time to time , and as we are a few now on LouiZe that it could be better to have my own forum on my own server. (I guess the few friends could accept to move ) . On the other hand I hope LouiZe will stay on web for ..centuries .. because it is an excellent ressource for my bad memory. I often retrieve stuff by typing *something* + LouiZeforum , in Google ... On the other hand , it was not reallly for the money question, but more to play with web, I like to try things as an amateur. My great son Bertrand did the job ,weeks ago , and I had mixed3d.net/forum/ during ...2 days LOL Then it had been hacked. OVH just inform you and you have to repair all. Bertrand did. 1 month ago. So mixed3.net is OK now , but he has still to restart seamless server , and my smartfox .. He is at home now because it is his birthday, LOL , so he will do that today ,he promised me , Thyme ( I write at minight +6 mn Btw I wondered if you saw that your server was stopped, Thyme , but as it was my fault , I just was waiting, I didnt inform you ... Btw Bertrand is very busy , he is programming an excellent geo-history software sorry to be long.. ps , yes samd , one time "mixed", on free.fr ( not my server , just a host ) had been hacked because I had some stupid *.php there I am an amateur ps - Quote :
- ""How you secured it ??"
" yes I was wondering how to secure a forum if I retry one day to do that , now I know how Thyme did
